Women 60+ love this Meghan Markle-fave anti-aging cream, on sale for Black Friday

As a beauty editor covering Black Friday sales, I write a lot about anti-aging creams and the celebrities who enjoy them. Just last week, I reported on Jennifer Aniston’s skin-care preferences, which include the very brand I’m about to discuss today. It’s called Tatcha, and the entire line is among the highest quality anti-aging skin care I’ve ever tested.

According to a scene from her 2022 Netflix documentary and an interview in Allure, Meghan Markle is also a fan. Specifically, there’s a scene in Harry & Meghan where the Duchess of Sussex is seen chatting up longtime makeup artist Daniel Martin while he preps her for an event. On the table in front of them is Tatcha’s famous Water Cream, a product from the Japanese brand that’s been beloved for so long it’s reached a kind of cult status. At Amazon, it’s on sale for $58, the lowest price I’ve ever seen.

Plenty of normally pricey beauty products are deeply discounted for Black Friday, so be sure to check out some of our other favorite Black Friday beauty deals — there truly is something for everyone.

This award-winning, longtime shopper favorite is a bestseller for a reason: It’s clinically proven to increase skin hydration, reducing fine lines and making skin instantly softer and dewier.

Why is this a good deal? 💰

This premium cream rarely goes on sale, but right now an on-page coupon brings the price down to the lowest we’ve seen it drop all year long — $57 (down from $72). Now’s the time to pounce if you want your skin to glow at all the holiday get-togethers. It’ll even arrive in time to get it under the tree for your favorite giftee.

Why do I need this? 🤔

Listen, I get it. It might feel strange to purchase something just because some lady writing a story on the internet saw it on a famous person’s beauty counter. But Markle’s love for Tatcha’s Water Cream is not the only reason this high-quality moisturizer is worthy of your hard-earned cash.

It’s ultra-hydrating but not at all greasy. It has a silky texture that absorbs quickly without leaving a sticky residue or pilling, which is a common problem with even the most expensive products. The Water Cream is a luxurious face moisturizer updated for the modern age — less thick and gloopy, more velvety and refined. It also works well to prime skin for makeup, soften fine lines and reduce the appearance of pores. In other words? It’s great.

What reviewers say 💬

Of course, plenty of regular folks vouch for this Tatcha cream too, saying it’s one of those rare worth-the-splurge beauty buys.

Pros 👍

“Seriously, try it,” said one super-fan. “I never knew what a moisturizer should feel like until I tried this. It quenches the skin yet you can still feel it breathe. I do think it’s worth the $ when a little goes a long way.”

Yet another remarked on the effect the cream had on her skin: “Love this product — it does make a difference in the appearance of your skin. Does not take weeks to notice. Stuff is amazing.”

Over on Tatcha’s site, women in their 50s, 60s and beyond can’t stop raving, like in this five-star review: “I am 61 years old and I’ve used many moisturizers, hydrators and I’ve got to say, The Water Cream is the best! I received a jar as a gift, tried it and fell in love with it. Not heavy, not greasy, very lightweight, absorbs very quickly. My face feels silky smooth after applying just a tiny amount.”

Cons 👎

Of course, reviewers’ biggest sticking point here is the price. “The only moisturizer that works for my oily skin,” said one. “It’s definitely very expensive but it’s worth the money for me because it’s the only moisturizer I’ve found that hydrates my skin but doesn’t get me oily in an hour. I would give it five stars if it wasn’t so expensive.”

“I do like this product as a versatile, extremely light and cooling moisturizer,” remarked another. “However, someone recommended it as a moisturizer to fix my oiliness problem in my oily areas. It does not mattify [and] it did add to the shine. But for my at-home moisturizer or non-T-zone moisturizer when leaving the house (I just don’t put anything at all on the oily areas), I really, really like it.”

Many reviewers say a little Water Cream goes a long way, making the price more reasonable.

Another Markle pick: This skin-smoothing exfoliator, which is marked down at Amazon in three skin-specific formulas:

If you’d like to complement your under-eye stick with another Tatcha product, this rice polish is also a beloved favorite of celebrities and skin-care experts alike. Meghan Markle once told Allure that she loves it because “it just sort of foams on your face and gives you a really subtle exfoliation.”

Every beauty editor I know uses this to cleanse their skin at night — it’s especially good for those of us who are over 50.

Do you have dry skin? You may want to try Tatcha’s other cult-favorite moisturizer:

If you’re in the market for a heavier, more seriously hydrating moisturizer that won’t clog pores and is excellent for all skin types, look no further than this luxurious cream. It’s great for combatting winter dryness and always leaves my skin with a pretty, pearly glow.
